I started this picture purely along my usual 'draw an action line and hurry, it's almost bedtime' lines. I was closing in on the final pose when I realized it's very close to the first image of Vata I put up on the site.

Ordinarily that would cause me to erase and start over, but I felt like I wanted to push on for some reason. Maybe to see what I've learned, maybe because I was feeling too lazy to start over.

Whatever the case, this picture ends up being an interesting book-end with the first Vata pic. In that picture, he's a lot happier, looser in his movement, and shorter.

Here he looks anxious, underfed, and stiff. As much as I tried to fight it, his tale's taken a grim turn.

Honestly, his anxiety is probably more a reflection of the fact that I just spent two hours playing Resident Evil 4 alone in a dark room.
