Not really sure what to call this... tribal or practice... Yeah, practice.
It's been almost a year at this now, and I can see improvement in my work. However there are still large areas that I just don't know. In terms of the figure, there are parts of the body that are almost completely inscrutable to me, even after years of anatomy books.
The shoulder blades are one of most obvious and irritating. That whole little girdle of muscle and barely-anchored bone annoys the hell out of me.
There was no reference photo here, only an anatomy book to check some of my lines against. It's not very good. But it's getting better.
