Before settling on the picture ultimately used on the
Nanok DVD cover, I went through a few other concept drawings. Initially I felt that I wanted something like the original Conan the Barbarian movie poster, all sepia-toned and studded with pictures of the other people in the film.
That was proving far too annoying, so I abandoned it. However, I did end up making this sketch along the way. I rediscovered it at the art jam. It's not a bad pic, per se, so I decided to finish it up a little. I added the Dark One in the background and darkened some lines.
Yes, he is wearing sneakers. Yes, the furry pants are supposed to look like that.
