The cougar people are not like the wolf tribes. The cats are far more solitary, only meeting on special occasions and rarely in large groups.
Fiercly individual, they are also somewhat vain. They love jewellery, and are proficient at using their sharp claws to carve designs in leather and wood. Their life among the trees means that loose garments and decorations are impractical.
The marks on his chest are self-inflicted as part of his rite of passage.
