Arren again, this time in mid-hunt instead of afterwards. You'll note this is not the same reptile as before. Judging by the snarling leap, Arren's going to end up biting his lip again.

The reptiles that Arren's tribe hunts are slow-witted but fast for their size. They are also vicously territorial, attacking anyone that gets too close to their laying grounds. They travel in herds of females led by a small group of aggressive males. They have been known to huddle together in groups to maintain body heat.

They migrate in the fall, as they are not suited to winter. Arren's tribe, being furry and warm-blooded, don't have to follow. Instead, they lay in a store of lizard jerky and hunt smaller prey.

Fresh lizard is delicious. Lizard jerky is dry, tastless, and crumbles unpleasantly when chewed. On that basis alone, Arren has tried to argue for following the herds. But wolves are territorial too, and so the village stays more or less where it is.

On a less tangental note, I drew this one without reference (yay me!) and, most importantly, I felt it as I drew it. For the first time in the last little while I was really into a picture as I drew it. Regardless of how it turned out, I still felt the buzz. I'm happy it's back. Hope it sticks around.
