This was meant to be a quick sketch before bed. Instead I spent an hour and a half on it due to the fact that I don't have to get up for work in the morning. I just couldn't get it to gel. He was going to be kneeling. That didn't work, so I ended up erasing and redrawing everything from the costal margin down about four times.

The moony backdrop was created by using some art toys I've had for years: my drafting compass (I sketched over the rather rigid line it left) and my circle template for scumbling in the craters.

It's not anything special, but it does continue my practice in my latest artistic preoccupation: showing weight.
