In an urban setting, the furry raccoon retains its instinct to fatten up for winter. However, instead of bugs and garbage, the urban raccoon prefers a steady diet of fast food. This super-sizes him quite effectively, ensuring a warm fatty layer for the dark cold months ahead. He will then panic and crash diet as spring mating season approaches.

Inspired by a gang of really really fat raccoons that I met on my walk today. They were all very plump and had difficulty scrambling up a tree as I approached. It got me thinking that urban raccoons have it pretty sweet, compared to country cousins. Plus I had not drawn a raccoon in ages.

I think it shows. The stress I'm under these days, between work and home, is causing a wierd disconnect between mind and hand. I've done some okay stuff the last couple days but I don't feel it, on some metaphysical level.

I hope it goes away soon.
