The Stargod, Take Two.
Getting a little closer now. I still haven't included all the details of the costume. No scale mail, fewer gems, no diamond-encrusted quiver-strap. The mail in particular is daunting; I'm not sure as yet how to render it without making an even bigger mess.
The thing in his left hand is
the helmet-crown of Tyrk, Stargod's major adversary.
I like this pose much more. He seems powerful and exuberant. Not necessarily godlike, but dashingly heroic at least.
The problem with doing work like this is that Frazetta has already done all the really good 'holding a weapon over one's head' poses.
